For some young, aspiring athletes, the only way they even have a chance of making it to the pros is by receiving scholarships.
However, according to a report released by the National College Players Association (NCPA) titled The Price of Poverty in Big Time College Sport, a majority of college athletes live at or below the national poverty level—despite being given a full scholarship.
Though DoCS is a 501c3 nonprofit organization primarily dedicated to educating doctors, providing a support network, and elevating the Chiropractic profession in the arena of sports, we want to rectify this.
PAYING IT FORWARD (WITH YOUR MEMBERSHIP DUES, SCHOLARSHIPS, & GRANTS)
At DoCS, we believe in paying it forward and feel that investing in our kids is the right thing to do.
That’s why we also help young, aspiring athletes living at the poverty level receive the break they deserve. We do this via DoCS-sponsored grants and scholarships.
In fact, half of all membership fees are dedicated to helping these kids get the support they need.
